The RTE WRAD™ Wireless Reefer Acquisition Device is the latest addition to RTE’s GRASP™ Remote Reefer Monitoring system product family.

WRAD™ is a wireless option that allows remote monitoring and control of reefer units. WRAD™ can be used as a stand alone system or in conjunction with RTE GRASP powerline monitoring system. WRAD™ comes as either a battery powered removable device or can be permanently installed in the reefer unit. WRAD™ requires minimal hardware infrastructure and therefore suitable for small depots and vessels in addition to large terminals.

GRCD™

A WRAD™ unit

RTE introduces the Global Remote Communication Device (GRCD). The GRCD combines the features our standard ISO powercable modem with a GSM modem and a Global Positioning System (GPS).

Our customers now have the best of both worlds. When a reefer fitted with the GRCD is located on a vessel or terminal that operates the RTE GRASP™ system, the customer enjoys the benefit of free local communication and control with the reefer via a standard ISO modem interface or short range RF .Once the reefer leaves the vessel or container terminal, the condition and location of the reefer can be reported via the GSM module.

The GRCD now allows customers to monitor a reefer’s temperatures, alarms, and location from the beginning to end. The GRCD also makes it possible to control the reefer anywhere in the world with GSM coverage. Data can be monitored and controlled via a GRASP client or though a customized web interface. When the cargo is in transit you can now be notified by events such as when the unit is turned off, the unit is moved, the unit arrives at its destination, or when a operating parameter changes or an alarm occurs. The GRCD can also be configured to report data at timed intervals.
